"Today is the first day of the rest of your life" someone notable once said, which is a rather appropriate ( if rather naff) way of starting an online journal. Appropriate because starting this journal is about 2 years later than originally planned, as is the adding of content / redesign etc of the neoncarrot web site itself. That perhaps is the way the pace of life in India affects you; rarely are things done quickly, time is relative and stress is avoided wherever possible.
When we came to this amazing country to stay only 2 short years ago we had great plans for this site, principally to keep friends and family up to date on what we were doing and where we were. If anyone else was interested; well and good. But some how all that got sidetracked and there was always something else to do, and in any case those closest to us got emails that were probably far longer and far crazier than they would have liked. A cold but amazing winter in the Himalaya left us with a lot of time on our hands and redoing the Web site finally got inder way as a way to amuse ourselves and a place to show off some of the 6,000 odd digital pictures taken over the time here.
The site is now redesigned (bar some tweaking) and finally has some content to show off in the form of a few photo galleries, some articles on places we've been, and a rough explanation of where the hell the last 2 years have gone.
The journal of events of the last 2 years will eventually be slowly filled in in the articles section and the "timeline", while this journal will hopefully be updated on a regular basis (the intent is there...) to document something of our travels, but mostly of the summer life of the Himalayan Town of Manali in the Valley of the Gods
